Spokesperson for the Campaign to Pass the Occupied Territories Bill
The Control of Economic Activity (Occupied Territories) Bill, first tabled in 2018 by Independent Senator Frances Black, would ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements built on occupied Palestinian land. Civil society organisations have been calling on the Government to pass the Occupied Territories Bill for over six years. If passed, Ireland would become the first Western country to ban trade with the illegal Israeli settlements, which are considered the key driver of poverty and a host of human rights violations against Palestinians and the main impediment to their right to self-determination
Founder of the Rise Foundation
The Rise Foundation works to support families impacted by a loved ones addictive behaviour through awareness, education and therapy, and to combat the associated shame and stigma.
The Rise Foundation is a registered charity founded by Senator Frances Black in 2009. The foundation supports family members of those with addictive behaviour (alcohol, drugs, gambling, food or sex addiction) to understand the nature of addiction and the profound effects it has on relationships.
